According to the latest Bloomberg Billionaires Index, all top 10 billionaires in the world have seen their wealth shrink in the past year. Bill Gates, former Chief Executive and Chairman of Microsoft, continues to hog ‘the richest person’ title, but his wealth was 4 per cent lower compared to last year. Carlos Slim, Mexican business magnate, and Amancio Ortega, best known for his chain of Zara clothing, both took a 9 per cent knock in their net worth in the past year. But who amassed the most wealth? Mostly billionaires, lower down the order. Topping the list is Jack Ma, a Chinese Internet entrepreneur, who has put his foot well into the billionaire’s door by adding $7.8 billion to his wealth. Co-founder of Facebook Mark Zuckerberg is next in line adding $3.2 billion. Shiv Nadar, Founder and Chairman of HCL, added close to $1 billion, ranking within the top 10 billionaires who have added the most wealth during the past year.
