The most common questions received by mutual funds and Registrars are, “Please send me a statement”; “What is the latest valuation of my schemes?”; “Wish to check the status of my transaction”. To give the investor community easy access to information about their investments, Registrars have provided investors with a host of self-management tools on their websites.

From regular statements, to portfolio snap-shots, from consolidated statements to transaction confirmations, investors can have all the information they require in a few clicks.

Some useful self-help facilities for investors offered by Registrars through their websites are enumerated below.

To make use of many of these facilities, the only simple requirement is that you should have registered your email id in your folios.

e-Statements via investor mailback : One of the most popular and widely used services provided to investors is the Mailback service.

This refers to information – statements mailed back to investors at their registered emails ids.

Even without a PIN, investors can visit the Mailback services section of Registrar's websites and place a request for a wide range of statements which will be mailed back within minutes.

What's more, investors now can get aggregated information — statements with details consolidated across funds. The only prerequisite is that investors should have registered their e-mail id in their folios.

The variety of statements available includes:

Portfolio valuation statement : This gives a snapshot summary view of your portfolio of funds showing cost and market value, period of holding and return on your investment.

You have asset allocation charts showing how your funds are distributed between funds — a useful tool to keep track your portfolio.

Consolidated account statement (consolidated across Registrars): You can now get a statement which consolidates folios and transactions across mutual funds serviced by different Registrars, presenting a one-view transaction account statement for a time-period of your choice.

ActiveStatement : CAMS is the only registrar extending this unique electronic statement. It consolidates financial information across folios, with several links and sections. It allows investors to interact with the Registrar, update information and request services, all from within the statement.

Consolidated realised gains statement: Wish to get a Capital Gains Statement? This statement gives the capital gains and dividend details for the current and previous financial years, consolidated across Funds serviced by the Registrar.

Transaction details in excel format: A statement is even available for those who require transaction details in an excel format.

In addition to the above statements consolidating folio information, the regular account statement for a folio is also available through Mailback to investors.

Transaction enquiry facility: Investors can use this facility provided by Registrars to check online if a recent purchase, switch or redemption transaction has been processed. Try this at www.camsonline.com — Online Services for Investors — Transaction Enquiry.

In addition investors using this feature have the facility of checking if a dividend/redemption warrant has been recorded as undelivered in the folio.

NAV subscription facility : Investors can keep track of and view the daily NAV at the Registrar/AMFI/Mutual Fund websites.

If investors wish to subscribe for NAV to be received periodically by email, this facility is available and you may subscribe to receive only the NAV of the schemes of your choice.

All these facilities and statements are free of cost.
